National Expressway 2 or Eastern Peripheral Expressway or KGP (Sonipat (Kundli)-Ghaziabad-Palwal) is a proposed road which will bypass Delhi on the eastern side. Along the lines of the KMP Expressway - another expressway of a similar length - the KGP Expressway is set to take off to the East of Delhi, and form the other half of the ring around the national capital. This will also prove a catalyst in both residential and commercial development along the 135-km corridor, majorly in Uttar Pradesh. The expressway will provide signal-free connectivity between Ghaziabad and Faridabad, and Gautam Budh Nagar (Greater NOIDA) and Palwal. The road network touches portions of Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. The project involves construction of a six-lane expressway with access control highway connecting Faridabad-Greater Noida-Ghaziabad-Sonipat, which will also act as a bypass to Delhi, with a concession period of 20 years. The FNG (Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad) Expressway is planned to be a part of Eastern Peripheral Expressway. The FNG Expressway will provide fast connectivity to daily commuters of the area once complete. The FNG Expressway is around 56 km long with 19.9 km in Noida-Greater Noida region, 8 km in Ghaziabad, while the rest 28.1 km is in the Faridabad region, especially the sector of Neharpar. According to the plan, the FNG Expressway from Noida side will become operational in the next 14 months while it would take three years for the whole stretch to become fully operational〔http://epaper.timesofindia.com/Default/Scripting/ArticleWin.asp?From=Archive&Source=Page&Skin=TOINEW&BaseHref=CAP/2014/04/12&PageLabel=57&EntityId=Ar05700&ViewMode=HTML〕 The completed expressway designed by IIT-Roorkee will offer commuters direct connectivity between Noida and Greater Faridabad and put an end to massive traffic jams〔http://www.gurgaonscoop.com/new-e-way-to-link-noida-with-f-613156441.html〕 A bridge is also planned from Noida's Sector 150 to National Highway 2 in Faridabad as a part of the FNG Expressway. The Government of India approved funding for this expressway in August 2015 〔http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/economy/infrastructure/government-approves-17000-crore-highways-upgradation-projects/articleshow/48426159.cms〕 ==Route== The project takes off from NH-1 in Kundli (Haryana), crosses Yamuna near Mawikalan, Hindon river near Sharfabad, NH-58 near Duhai, NH-24 near Dasna toll, NH-91 near Village Bishara NTPC Dadri, Kasna-Sikandrabad road near Sirsa, re-crosses Yamuna near Fajjupur Khadar, Atali-Chinsa near Maujpur and meets NH-2 beyond Palwal. It will pass through five districts; Sonipat, Faridabad in Haryana, and Baghpat, Ghaziabad and Gautam Budh Nagar in Uttar Pradesh.
